Introducing the 2019 FWA Queen: Avianna Liuzzo

Miss Avianna Liuzzo was crowned as the 2019 Florida Watermelon Queen during the 51st Annual Florida Watermelon Association Convention held Jan 10-12, 2019 at the Vinoy Renaissance St Petersburg Resort & Golf Club in St. Petersburg, Florida. 

Avianna is 20 year old daughter of Dr. Michael and Debra Liuzzo and is currently attending University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida where she is majoring in Animal Science.

Avianna is a Certified Veterinary Assistant. In 2017 and 2018 Avianna received the UF College of Agricultural & Life Sciences Scholarship and the Florida Bright Futures Academic Scholarship. She enjoys showing horses and steers, competing in horse judging contests, participating in philanthropic activities to raise money for breast cancer awareness and education with my sorority Zeta Tau Alpha. She also enjoys cooking and traveling. She is a member of the UF Horse Judging Team and the UF Block and Bridle Club, an officer of the UF Gator Collegiate Cattlewoman’s Club, and the Director of Philanthropy and Fundraising for Zeta Tau Alpha.

As Florida Watermelon Queen, Avianna will travel throughout the United States and Canada, serving as a spokesperson for the watermelon industry. Avianna will hold the state title for one year and in February 2020 will represent Florida for the title of the National Watermelon Queen being held that year in Orlando, Florida.
