Miss Katelyn Kelley
Miss Katelyn Kelley crowned as Florida Watermelon Queen Katelyn Kelley was crowned as the 2011 Florida Watermelon Queen during the Florida Watermelon Association annual convention held March 25-28, 2011 at the Renaissance Orlando SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida.Katelyn is the 21 year old daughter of Kevin and Anna Kelley of Branford, Florida and the granddaughter of Carroll and Wilma Hall of Branford, FL and Annette Kelley and the late L.C. Kelley of Waldo, FL. Katelyn has two brothers Kyle who is an apprentice lineman with Clay Electric and Kaleb a senior at Branford High School.Katelyn currently attends the University of Florida and is a senior majoring in Telecommunications with a minor in Marketing. She is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Golden Key Honor Society, and the National Broadcasting Society. Katelyn enjoys cooking desserts, playing the piano, water sports and plays intramural softball. She has volunteered hours at The Ronald McDonald House in Gainesville, FL, served as a volunteer “cuddler” in the neonatal intensive care unit at Shands UF and was a big sister for the North Florida Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization.As Florida Watermelon Queen, Katelyn will travel throughout the United States and Canada, serving as a spokesperson for the watermelon industry.
